Fuller's - The Sheering Sausage

We've tried Fuller's sausages before following a tip off from Mrs J and she wasn't wrong you know...they do make a good sausage no mistake...

Fuller's have moved premises since our last review of the Sheering Sausage, and are now found at Brett's Farm on the A1060 at White Roding, Essex.  Just near the Black Horse pub...another of our "fave" hangouts, but back to the sausages...

The mild cumberland flavour is, dare I say, delightful from these 65% pork sausages.  The light pepper and seasoning is spot on for us as it happens.

Texture-wise we'd say just under medium, with a noticeable succulence, good bite and nice chew.  The natural skins are very good too and cook up well.  No splits (or bursts) or eruptions.  Absolute minimal residual oil left in the pan and certainly none of that pale ooze we see sometimes from other producers.

The quality of these Sheering Sausages we thought had improved since our previous sampling in 2012.  Back then we'd commented on the rather pale look, the somewhat baggy skins and the large size at 130mm long, although they did cook up OK, we did only give them a 3 overall.  These "new" Sheering Sausages are different and you'll notice that we rated them somewhat higher this time.

The troops here liked them and at £2.95 for a pack of six, they're still around 50p a go.  Result!  They're still good value.

Would we buy some again, too right we will!
